FISH HOOK RESTAURANT...
The Fish Hook Restaurant is open with new owners.
The new operators hope to use some of Ms. Faye's
recipes. They have reworked the inside, adding booths
along the side-walls (has a seating capacity of
26 persons) . While not all of the local folks photos
are on the wall as in the past, they do have nautical
photos of our area (lighthouse, horses I think,
FERRY SERVICE CHANGES...
local four ferry operators are no longer in operation.
All ferry service to Cape Lookout Lighthouse is
now run from the Park Service Marina. They have
two large (50 passenger) vessels (tri-hull type
with shaded top) and one smalller one (similar to
the size that have run in the past). Go to: Google
and type in ISLAND EXPRESS FERRY SERVICE for more
information. They operate from the Beaufort waterfront
as well as the Park Service marina here on the island
CALICO JACKS MARINA NOW CLOSED...
Jacks Marina is no longer conducting any type of
business activity at their marina. They sold the
big ferry that they had run only one year. There
is a gate across their driveways. As of now, I don't
think the owner has any plans to do anything with
it. What a shame - such a great location with the
marina and ship store ....and it being the closest
departure point to the Cape, other than the Park

of June. Over 85 hookups, boat slips, swimming pool,
bathhouse, beach, dock and gazebo.
the RV folks who take it seriously and want a REALLY
NICE place to hook up. Both permanent and transient
left onto Guthrie St (opposite Billy's Groc/Hardware);
then go straight, not turning right on Bayview.....goes
all the way to bay.
